We are trying to start a newspaper for the Occupy New Orleans movement. The more we know, the better we can be organized. Please...let us know if there is something going on in the movement that needs to be told!
Urgent SOS

An SOS From the Desperate Depths of Occupy Nola.

Greetings. We are NOLAnonymous. Over the past thirteen days we have occupied Duncan Plaza across from New Orleans City Hall in solidarity with Occupy NOLA and other Occupations around the globe. We have observed in silent frustration members of Occupy NOLA systematically emulate the very government that has oppressed the voice of the people for decades. They have formed a bureaucratic core that has little interest in opinions outside their own, and they reject knowledgeable and valuable players in the movement to exert a social control over the occupiers. They have an agenda that we believe to be detrimental to the progress of the occupation of New Orleans, in relation to the occupation movement around the globe. The only person with any access to donation funds directed to Occupy NOLA has not been seen or heard from in over a week, and no signs of returning any donation funds or technological donations such as computers and wifi equipment to the occupation site have been observed, nor has any action been taken against the thief. We, NOLAnomymous, provide our own personal resources to cultivate the evolution of Occupy NOLA via unseen action taken with no consensus from Occupy NOLA that inevitably will lead to the success of the occupation. At the moment, Occupy NOLA is completely lacking in technological resources. The only computer that was donated to the occupation has been stolen by the before-mentioned thief, and no attempts at setting up alternate accounts have been made, leaving the camp more like ants whose home has been destroyed than an organized group of activists part of an articulate worldwide mission. We have seen small steps being taken in the right direction to inhibit the control of the bureaucrats, but for Occupy NOLA to be successful, we need technology in Duncan Plaza to stay connected with Global movements and information about those movements so we can inform occupiers of world wide events. Connectivity to other occupations we feel is key to positive evolution within the occupation of New Orleans.
